Whereas Gregory Henry Levenston Grand Master of the United Grand Lodge of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons hath represented unto the  Most Noble Edward William Duke of Norfolk Earl Marshal and Hereditary Marshal that by Articles of Union dated 1st day of June 1888 entered into between the District Grand Lodge of England, the District Grand Lodge of Scotland and the Grand Lodge of New South Wales it was agreed that one Grand Lodge be constituted under the style of the United Grand Lodge of New South Wales from and after the twenty-fourth of June following that on the Ninth day of September 1998 the name of the said United Grand Lodge was changed to the United Grand Lodge of New South Wales and the AUSTRALIAN Capital Territory of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons That the said United Grand Lodge is an unincorporated association governed by the Regulations contained in its Book of Constitutions and comprises the Grand Master Past Grand Masters Present and Past Grand Officers and the Masters Past Masters Wardens and Master Masons of Private Lodges under the United Grand Lodge And that the United Grand Lodge is desirous of having Armorial Ensigns established under lawful authority and duly recorded in Her Majesty’s College of Arms And whereas he as Grand Masters of the said United Grand Lodge and on its behalf hath requested therefore the favour of His Grace’s Warrant for Our granting and assigning such Arms and Crest and in the same Patent such supporters and such Devices or Badges as We deem suitable to be borne and used by the United Grand Lodge of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons on seals or otherwise according to the Laws of Arms And for as much as the said Earl Marshal did by Warrant under his hand and seal bearing date the fourth day of October 2011 authorise and direct Us to grant and assign such Arms and Crest & in the same Patent such supporters and such Device or Badge accordingly Know Ye Therefore that We the said Garter Clarenceaux and Norray and Ulster in pursuance of His Grace’s Warrant and by virtue of the Letters Patent of Our several Offices granted by the Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty to each of Us respectively do by these Presents grant and assign The Untied Grand Lodge of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory the Arms following that is to say:

Checky Sable and Argent on a Grey Gulles for Mullets of eight points Or over all on a Chevron Argent a pair of Compasses Sable and for Crest upon a Helm with a Wreath Argent and Sable A Masonic Square apex downwards Or in front of a Waratah Flower Gules slipped and leaved Vert in front of a pair of Compasses Or Mantled Sable lined Argent as are in the margin hereof more plainly depicted And We do further grant and assign the following Device or Badge that is to say: A Sun in splendour Or charged with a Masonic Square apex downwards in front of a pair of Compasses Sable as herein depicted And by Authority aforesaid I the said Garter do further Grant and assign the Supporters following that is to say:- On the Dexter a Kangaroo pendant from the dexter forefoot a Junior Warden’s Jewel and sinister a Lion quadrant pedant from the sinister forefoot a Senior Warden’s Jewel all Or as are also in the margins hereof more plainly depicted the whole to be borne and used every hereafter by the United Grand Lodge of New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory on Seals or otherwise according to the Laws of Arms In Witness whereof We the said Garter Clarenceaux and Norray have to these presents subscribed Our names and affixed the Seal of our several Offices this sixteenth day of August in the sixty-second year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lady Elizabeth the Second by the Grace of God Queen of Australia and the other Realms and Territories Head of the Commonwealth and in the year of Our Lord Two thousand and thirteen.
